E-Writing Assignment 3

1) Haiku

Fallen rain
Has soaked the giant
Petrichor

2) Haiku

Sense

3) Limerick

Before you read my Limerick:

Gershon Legman, who compiled the largest and most scholarly anthology, held that the true limerick as a folk form is always obscene, and cites similar opinions by Arnold Bennett and George Bernard Shaw, describing the clean limerick as a periodic fad and object of magazine contests, rarely rising above mediocrity. From a folkloric point of view, the form is essentially transgressive; violation of taboo is part of its function.

I maintain that I am of impeccable mental health.
Do go on.

There once was a person called Gary
His grandmother he was to bury
The verdict said guilty
The crime was most filthy
He'd popped his late grandmother's cherry

  1. Ok, first of all your haikus was pretty straight forward, tho i find the second one to be hilarious, only one word eh? Secondly your limerick was fucking hilarious, i had to go back and read it again just so i hadn't understood it wrong. That last line made me go "WTF?!", so if that was your intention then kudos to you for writing a brilliant limerick.

    Cheers

  2. Hyello,

WHAT DID HE DO WITH HIS GRANNY?!?!?!?!

Ok, just let me pick up my jaw and lets continue. I never understood the point of haiku... to me it's not that creative to pick a few words but it may also mean that I am to stupid to understand something witch such a deep meaning. But even I can appreciate your haiku and I even understood it.

AND THE LIMERICK WAS AWESOME!!! haha finally a funny limerick and not a depressing one :D

    SLAÍNTE!!

  3. Thanks guys :)

Stefan, yeah I did some research on haikus and i really find them interesting, I like the fact that you are able to convey so many emotions in so few words.

And as for the second one, I just did it because I could :D
